Yesterday, I ate shrimp bigger than the size of my head. Unfortunately the taste does not measure up to its size. So that’s another scientific observation that “better things come in smaller packages.”Also let me advertise the wonderfulVN grapefruits. Looking like a big green bowling ball with a 1.5 inch thick rind shaping it slightly like a pear, the fruity flesh brings mouthwatering excitement. I think I can eat bowling ball after bowling ball of grapefruits.
Instead of soaking it in sugar, Viets love to dip it into hot peppers and salt. It’s the yin and yang of the fruit world. Sweet and salty is the typical combination for all sour fruits in Viet Nam. I personally love pineapple and salt. It’s makes me drool.
Honestly, you cannot beat the fruit selection in VN. Everything is fresh, exotic, and plentiful. Let me just say that I’m happy that I can’t get fat off of fruits.
